Lead8 has recently won the design competition for China Resources commercial retail development located in the heart of Nan Shan HouHai, Shenzhen Bay, China. Developed by China Resources, a leading commercial real estate developer in China, Lead8 is appointed to provide architecture and interior design for the 80,000 square meter high end retail complex within a large mixed use development.

Located in the heart of HouHai district, the mixed use development is set to become Shenzhen China Resources headquarters.  With a total GFA of 860,000 square meter and a total investment of approximately RMB 20 billion, the project includes China Resources Shenzhen Bay Sports Center, Shenzhen Science and Technology Center, a 400 meter tall China Resources Headquarters office tower, business center, arts and cultural center, Andaz Hotel and high-end residences Hyatt House. The blend of activities in the mixed use development is first of its kind in China – creating a diverse and dynamic destination.

“We are delighted to be selected as the winning team for this prestigious project in Shenzhen Bay.” said Claude Touikan, Co Founder & Executive Director of Lead8. “We are excited to work with China Resources to develop a new typology for this lifestyle oriented retail development that encapsulates the essence of Shenzhen Bay”.

The high end commercial center acts as an anchor of the mixed-use development and integrates local culture, open green spaces along with a wide range of leisure and entertainment facilities. The project vision is to develop an environment that blends urban context with art, landscape and cultural elements – to bring a model for an eco-friendly environment to promote a sense of place and offer a new, exquisite urban retail experience to the wider community.

The project is expected to open in 2019 and is set to become a major commercial hub in Nan Shan HouHai, Shenzhen Bay.
