Sunday 8 October 2017 saw the third annual Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon get underway. A full day’s festival of racing and cycle-themed events for all the family, Lead8’s Co Founder & Executive Director Chris Lohan participated in this year’s 50km challenge event.
At a time when Hong Kong is starting to re-assess it’s sense of identity within Asia and the wider global marketplace there is a lot of talk of liveability and promoting a healthy active lifestyle. The Cyclothon is one positive step forwards in changing perceptions of Hong Kong towards a healthy, active city. Chris comments:
“Having lived in Hong Kong for many years it’s refreshing to see a positive event promote a healthy activity such as cycling. As a keen cyclist myself I’m obviously biased, yet it is always inspiring to see such a broad spectrum of the community turn out and take part. Let’s hope this continues to be the case so the communities of Hong Kong can have a say in the future of this city.”
Lead8 is a forward thinking company and through our approach to design we try to positively impact the lives of the end users and communities in and around our projects. Our HarbourLoop intiative is part of how this ethos comes to life right on our doorstep and the Sun Hung Kai Cyclothon seems to be of the same ilk. With heads turning towards the future of this city we hope events and ideas such as these continue to emerge and inspire the people of Hong Kong to live a healthier happier life.
