Message from the Co Founders & Executive Directors of Lead8
“2019 marks the 5th anniversary of the founding of Lead8. Year on year we are doing greater things, creating new horizons in design, and building stronger client relationships.
This is a special time in our company’s history as we celebrate our 5th anniversary. We are extremely proud to be marking this wonderful milestone. It is a very exciting time for us at Lead8 in many aspects – from our brand evolution, expansion into new sectors, to awards achievements.
Over the past five years, we have been graced by our whole community, which encompasses our clients, our business partners and everyone at Lead8, who have enabled our collective success. We strive to actively reach out to the communities in which our projects are located, and the cities where we are based, in an effort to do what we can for those around us.
We are particularly focused on creating meaningful spaces that will give local communities a sense of place. Ultimately, it is through design and architecture that we can make an impact and create a better world.
Thank you for a special 5 years and here’s to celebrating the next successful chapter together.”
This has been an especially eventful year with the redevelopment and evolution of our brand. The rebranding brings a new chapter to Lead8’s transformation journey, as well as our vision for the future. Based on the three principles of People, Places and Infinity, our new branding stays true to our identity.
The refreshed logo reflects the value we deliver to all our clients and our approach to architecture, design and business, while staying true to our roots. We have taken on a new typeface and corporate color palette to represent our modernity and approachability, while creating a sense of structure and solidity. We maintain our iconic infinity symbol with a modernised touch, it remains an emblem of the immeasurable and boundless possibilities of our creativity, our brand, and our studio.
With all these changes, however, our mission remains: To create a better world through engaging, purposeful and inspirational world-class design.
In the past year, we have achieved some remarkable accomplishments, while expanding into new sectors and disciplines. We made a concerted push into the aviation sector, and was appointed Lead Design Architect for the SkyCity Airport RDE complex located at Hong Kong International Airport Terminal 1. Additionally, Lead8 was also appointed Lead Designer for Beijing’s Daxing International Airport Commercial Landside Terminal that is scheduled to open in September 2019.
We have had the pleasure of celebrating the opening of a number of new projects in China, including U-fun, a new lifestyle oriented shopping centre in the heart of Chengdu, and also the openings of Shenzhen Bay MixC, and the new flagship IMAX cinema chains for China Resources Land.
Our work has been recognised internationally this year, too. Our work was recognised by The S.ARCH International Architecture Award for the Best Conceptual Design Category Urban Project for our sustainable architecture design of the Qianhai Guanze mixed-use development in Shenzhen, China.
As we strive towards even greater recognition, we have also stopped to take stock o our success in the context of the wider community. We intrinsically believe community is an enabler of success. A healthy community means a successful community; and it has always played an integral role in our approach to work.
The whole studio demonstrated this commitment by participating in corporate volunteer programs for a better community this year. Lead8 staff and their families actively took part in the World Vision Expedition 180 fundraising event in Hong Kong, to support and raise awareness of those displaced in the South Sudan conflict.
As we look forward to our journey ahead, we will continue to design, build and create inspirational environments that will enrich people’s lives and build a collective successful future.
